[Anime] Queen’s Blade stuff

A new PV for 2009’s Queen’s Blade anime is floatin around. Check it out! Looks good for what most people might see as just a fanservice anime lol. Character designs by Rinshin, who’s done many a hentai series including the class La Blue Girl, Twin Angels, Words Worth, and also worked design and animation for Elfen Lied, To-Love-Ru, and Ikkitousen Dragon Destiny (info pulled from wiki..yay). Confirmed characters include the latest characters introduced into the QB universe Arein and Aldora. Joining them will be the sisters Reina, Erina, and Claudette, Tomoe, Nanael, Echidna, Melona, Listy, Nowa, Cattleya, Yuumil, Airi, Menasu and Shizuka. There may be others that weren’t shown in the trailer as well.

 

In other Queen’s Blade (or rather Gate) news, the latest news to come out from Comiket75 (which just started yesterday or so), is the announcement of a new character in the Queen’s Gate universe. Continuing with the line of characters from fighting games (previously Iroha and Mai from Samurai Spirits), comes the character Dizzy from the Guilty Gear series.

[Books] Nishi E Da’s first art collection!

Nishi E Da, another one of my favorite artists that I know mainly from his numerous Comic Megastore H covers, is getting his first illustration collection! Just released on the 25th, the title of the collection is “Dendrobium”, which apparently is the name of a large family of orchids. Orchids in the language of flowers relates to love or beauty, and I think it is an appropriate title for the book because in my opinion Nishi E Da’s women are all so very purdy lol. His faces have a touch to them that are quite attractive, and is one of few artists that I’m able to recognize from the distinct style. The book contains a whoppin 270 pages of goodness which collects his cover illustrations and pinups for Comic Megastore H from the very first issue till around the June or July 2008 issue when he switched over to illustrating covers for Comic Megastore (taking over for Sonobe Kazuaki), with Ooyari Ashito of erogame maker LittleWitch taking his place for Megastore H. I will definitely have to either order this from Amazon JP or attempt to find it locally which probably won’t happen for awhile, but it will happen. Oh yes it will… This book will one day sit alongside my collection of favorite artbooks including those by INO, Sano Toshihide, Happoubi Jin, Hyung Tae Kim, and Keiji Gotou.

Some decomas images of Megahouse’s upcoming Queen’s Blade figure: Possessed/bewitched/something Queen Aldora (no idea how to translate her full title lol. Maybe somebody else can offer a proper translation. She coexists with a demon/ghost who is attached to and serves her).

Release date sometime next Spring, and like the rest of the QB girls she’s 1/8 scale. Sculpted by Kibayashi Norio, who worked on another young loli character as well as a few other curvaceous ladies in the QB world. Character created by Kantaka.

Her covered eye kinda freaks me out and she’s got a spiky…thing stickin out… lol
She should have some coverage in the current Hobby Japan magazine out right now.

Here she comes!!! Been waiting for Alpha x Omega to come out with this! Would’ve been better if it was the figure itself, but painted prototype and release information is good too lol.

 

 

Sexy Villetta Nu comin April 2009 for 6615yen (probably less for people preordering). Sculpted by Inagaki You, who also sculpted AxO’s C.C. and Bunny Kallen. Appearance on their webpage should mean preorders bein thrown up at stores around the net.

Though i love her body (awww yeaaa), her face seems a bit less cat-like in quality than Bandai’s emotion style version, which is something I liked… Oh well, I need me some Villetta in my collection. Think she’ll come with a seifuku part or somethin too which looks a bit odd on her in my opinion.

I think the particular shade and shading work of her skin also makes her look a bit more naturally dark skinned, rather than Bandai’s version which imo made her look more like she was “tanned”. Neither really bothers me, though I guess I like the “tanned” look a little better.

In the end, I passed up on emotion style Villetta to wait for the longshot (at the time) of the announcement of Alpha x Omega’s version. Looking back now though, I really like Villetta and may end up getting both of her. o_O

In other Cherry Girls news, Hobby Channel has put up information on the goods they’ll be selling at the Winter Comiket 75 (Dec 28-30)! Among them will be the fanbook vol. 2, a four piece coaster set with illustrations by the always amazing Kasukabe Akira, and a mug with a chibi Cherry Girls imprint drawn by guest fan artist Izumi-san (who will also be featured in the fanbook among other guests)! All will be 1000yen, with sales to also go up on the Hobby Japan online shop once C75 is over. Is anybody heading to C75? T_T

As a special present, fans who buy more than 2000yen of stuff will also receive a special paper bag of sorts to carry all your C75 goods around. I’m assuming it will feature a Cherry Girls illustration (doesn’t say), but will for sure on one side feature Queen’s Blade. Cherry Girls cosplayers working at the booth will also be giving away free card calendars (pocket calendars?) to people in line while supplies last.

Speaking of cosplayers, on the 28th there will be people cosplaying all four brothers working at the booths. On the 30th, it will be a Yuki day.　　I hope somebody will be able to take pictures this time around. I was hoping for some pics from the last C74, but never did find any…

The boys are at it again today, serving their Masters at the maid cafe 『Cherry Girls』. However, the youngest son Rio-kun is going a bit overboard. The second youngest Tomo-kun has a problem with his behavior, and takes action which leads to… S, stop! My butt’s gonna break?!

Wah…I knew Kotobukiya had a thing going on with some Marvel and DC Characters, and they’ve been doing an awesome job (especially with the Dark Knight figures), but didn’t know they started doin east meets west type stuff! Couldn’t have chosen a better Japanese artist to re-imagine a western character either. DC has their own Ame-Comi line up of “Japanified” figures, but they just don’t turn out the way I think they could be, and definitely can’t hold a candle to this.

Hey all how was your Thanksgiving weekend?? Any good Black Friday/Saturday/getting ready for Cyber Monday deals? lol Anyway quick update before I leave for work! Doujin erogame soft maker Tinklebell updated their site over the weekend, opening up an official page for their newest work in progress (being worked on alongside Music Box of the Sun), the latest in the Punyupuri series — Rondo Duo! Super ecchi dynamism! The Rondo will never end!
