[figures] GoodSmile & company @ WonderFest Winter 2k8

With the Winter 2008 Wonder Festival a little over a month away, companies have started announcing their limited edition offerings that will only be available during this event. Unfortunately for most of us that means we might not be able to get any of these, since they are made in limited quantities. I’m sure though if you’re lucky enough and keep a good look out, you might spot on occassionaly on ebay or on yahoo auctions japan, though you’ll have to use a third party intermediary service to go the YAJ route. Or I suppose if you’re lucky enough to know somebody going, you could have them try to snatch one up for ya. ANYway…Goodsmile Company has a page listing their limited edition offerings for the event. They’ve got a few nendoroids, a couple character figures, a figma figure, and a couple mech offerings.

The information below comes from:
GoodSmile’s Wonder Festival page
GoodSmile’s Mika-tan blog
Shingo @ Heisei Democracy also has the rundown of releases from other companies here.

First off, the always cute nendoroids:
Ahhh this set of nendoroids are really the only ones that interest me out of the list. Too cute! From the GSC we have two characters from the Lucky☆Star anime, Konata and Kagami, cosplaying as Saber and Rin respectively from Fate/Stay Night. I wasn’t able to stomach past the first episode of the Lucky☆Star anime, but I gotta admit the opening was very spaztastic and the characters are very cute. Maybe I should take a second dip into the series?

Special WonFes 2k8 release information:
Available number: 3000 on show floor / built to order mail order
Price: 5,000 Yen as a set

Here’s a….funky fresh addition to the Nendoroid line from GSC. It’s the company mascot for Nitro+, makers of such erogames as Satsuriko no Jango and Demonbane (also home to one of my favorite artists, Niθ). This guy’s name is Joymax…and…I think it’s supposed to be a guy (?) so….he’s doin a bit of idol cosplaying there…

Special release info:
Available number: 500 on the floor / 500 mail order
Price: 3,000 Yen

I think this is something I haven’t seen before, but maybe you guys know more about this than I do? I think it’s a talking nendoroid of sorts from FREEing. The character Primura from the erogame turned anime “Shuffle!“, and I *think* it interacts with or mimics a special game that comes with the figure titled “Primura’s Tiny Big Adventure”. This special figure differentiates itself from the already released version with the addition of glasses that Primura wears, as well as a line that she says exclusive to this version. Comes with catbuddies (? Never seen Shuffle…) Shiratama and Kurotama as well.

Special release information:
Available number: 300 @ the WonFes
Price: 8,000 Yen

Next up the figure releases:
So here on the left we have a black clothing, pink haired, white guitar version of the already released Guilty Gear character INO from Max Factory. These guys on the right….honestly I don’t know what they’re from. Something to do with popular japanese voice actor Seki Tomokazu. These two guys are from something called “Battle Hawk” apparently. Left guy is called Battle Hawk, guy on the right is called Big Hawk.

INO Release Information:
Available number: 500 through mail order
Price: 7,800 Yen

Battle/Big Hawk Release Information:
Available number: 300 on the show floor / 200 through mail order
Price: 8,000 Yen as a set

And now the figma…
The only figma in the list, it’s another Lucky☆Star figure; Konata cosplayed as Suzumiya Haruhi from “The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi” (Again, I haven’t seen Lucky☆Star, but both Konata and Haruhi were voiced by the same voice actress, Hirano Aya).

Release info:
Available number: 5000 on show floor / Made to order mail order
Price: 2,500 Yen

And lastly, the machines:

On the left is a limited color edition of the previously released Vic Viper from the anime Sky Girls, made by Atelier Sai (haven’t seen Sky Girls…I only know the Vic Viper from Konami’s Gradius series). On the right is some mech from the anime Armored Trooper Votoms.

Release info for the Vic Viper (ooh I love that name):
Available number: 500 show floor / 100 mail order
Price: 4,000 Yen

Votoms mech release info:
Available number: 100 show floor / Check Max Factory’s website for mail order information.
Price: 4,000 Yen

It’s too bad that all of these are japan only, but maybe some of you lucky ones are fortunate to get a friend to pick one up or something. All I would like to get is the nendo Lucky☆Star/Fate cosplay set, but hey I guess it’s ok. More money for other figures right? lol

I don’t understand the meaning of 2,500 yen.
