Well here’s a bit of interesting news. A recent announcement for more new appearing characters (not necessarily brand new) in the Soul Calibur IV universe comes word that a brand new character guest designed by Yoshizaki Mine, will be making her debut. Her name is Angol Fear, and she is some kind of cousin to Angol Mois, from the anime and manga series Keroro Gunsou (Sergeant Keroro), by the same artist.
I like the pose in the lower left shot. Also, spiky niffles are spiky…

They certainly have their similarities including the bulbous hat and the spear weapon (Lucifer Spear?). This is almost turning into a Queen’s Blade/Queen’s Gate type of thing, which gets me excited. Though I royally suck at the Soul Calibur games, if they keep adding new anime/pop culture tie ins, I’m sure to cave in lol. If they decide to keep goin with this, I wonder who’ll be next? Though I guess they’ll have to be adapted to the Soul Calibur universe (i.e. Angol Mois to Angol Fear, not exactly the same), here are a few suggestions anyway:
- Ryomou Shimei
- Kanu Unchou
- Aya/Maya Natsume
- well….pretty much any of the Ikkitousen or Tenjou Tenge girls lol
- Witchblade (anime’s) Amaha Masane
- Seirei no Moribito’s Balsa <- practically made for this game

edit: Hey and I just thought of something. Even if they don’t get the characters out for launch, I just realized that we are in the age of downloadable content now. There ain’t nothin sayin that they can’t add more characters through dlc!
edit 2: Oh little did I know that there already has been another guest artist for the series. Izubuchi Yutaka, who’s worked on several shows including Rahxephon, Eureka Seven, and the WXIII Patlabor movie has come up with Scheherazade, a rapier wielding elf looking character. Don’t know much about her background, but I read that the artist was inspired by Deedlit from the classic anime fantasy epic Record of Lodoss War as reference. So far I like Angol Fear more 😛

Hey i think that these characters are so cool, evan tho i think that they are clones, it would be cool to get mroe and more of these quest characters……. i think that it is easier to make them, so they should keep doing it!! I like all of the new female characters! its nicer to have to balance, but there is no new male characters!! We need to evan everybody out =] but, i wonder if these people are going to have alterate costumes, that would be great! Evan tho i dont know who these popele are, i will still play as them =] lol evan if they are clones, =] that only means that it is easier to know what your doing, and you dont have ot learn a whole new move-set lol =] but who knows, i am keeping my eyes peeled for these things, so until i know for sure…….
Angol Fear looks pretty cool and interesting.
hehe yea I hope they try to grab more cross over characters because I think it’s a great idea. And I have no problems if all they add are females either ;P Though males could be just as cool.
I will never get enough of Angol Fear.
