[Games] Dissidia Final Fantasy gameplay – Tidus vs. Jecht

Another video’s been released showing gameplay of Dissidia for the upcoming PSP game. This time it’s Tidus vs. his old man Jecht, both characters from FFX. I think the Onion Knight and Cloud of Darkness vid looked more impressive, but this should still be a pretty fun game nonetheless lol.

[Anime] Initial D Extra Stage 2 OVA, story info + screens

Looks like a new Initial D OVA will be making its way onto DVD (and on japanese pay-per-view on Oct 3, info via wiki) for the series’ 10 year anniversary 😀 Hobby Channel’s got a short summary of what the new OVA will be about, as well as a small number of screenshots, release date, and soundtrack info. This new OVA will be Extra Stage 2 ~Tabidachi no Green~, continuing Mako and Iketani’s story from First Stage and the Extra Stage 1 OVA. The subtitle breaks down as, “Green (the color of Iketani’s S13), setting off on a journey.”

 

 

 

[Movies] Sukiyaki Western Django

Saw this preview up on IGN Movies a short while ago but didn’t really think anything of it till I decided to check out the previews they had on the site. I’m totally gonna watch this movie! lol

An epic tale of blood, lust, and greed.

Sukiyaki Western Django is an english language “Spaghetti Western” film (Sukiyaki here for some japanese flair) directed by Takashi Miike, and featuring a japanese cast along with Quentin Tarantino. The film’s got a pretty neat sense of style, and though the story may be cheesy (actually I don’t really know what the story is lol), this should make for some pretty good entertainment with some friends (in the same vein that Grindhouse was).

[Games] Dissidia Final Fantasy gameplay – Onion Knight vs. Cloud of Darkness

Here’s some pretty darn cool lookin gameplay footage from Dissidia ~Final Fantasy~ which was recently shown I think. It shows the Onion Knight fighting the Cloud of Darkness, both from FF3 I believe. Looks pretty fun, and while I was watching it, I was somehow reminded of Virtual On lol. Dissidia is, as you can see, some kind of arena fighting game pitting various characters — good and bad guys — from various Final Fantasy series against each other. Dunno if there’s some kind of story that strings the game along, but hey if the gameplay is fun, I’m down with that. It’ll be coming out for the PSP…sometime… lol

[Anime] Zettai Shougeki ~Platonic Heart~ feat. Happoubi Jin

Pretty unknown to me till today, seems this is going to be a new all encompassing project that will include music cds, games (ds maybe?), figures, character goods, and an anime among a few other things. Of notable interest is that the characters are designed by Happoubi Jin (Resort Boin, Kanojo x3, Sweet Body artbook)!

Saw this from HeiseiDemocracy. Looks like Daiki Kougyou will be bringing this Kanu figure that…..words are unworthy to describe. Sculpt by Hagii Shunji, and currently set for a December release for 16,591yen. 1/6 scale. Cast-off. Excellence all around. I’d love to see Hagii Shunji tackle other Ikkitousen manga covers. ^^

[Figures] The Gift of a beautiful servant – Saber

Amiami’s put up Gift’s Saber, sculpted by Toda Satoshi for pre-preorder. She’ll be open for actual preorder starting 8/26 Japan time (in a few hours or so?). An alternate, more anime looking head sculpted by Kuramoto Ikuma will be included with first run editions of the figure. She’s currently planned for a December release. Armor…so….beautiful *▽*

From Figure/GK, scans of the latest Hobby Japan issue have revealed Alpha x Omega’s upcoming bunny girl Kallen/Karen and swimsuit maid waitress Shirley, which were announced at the last WF. Also picked out was a bit of news regarding upcoming PVC releases of currently polystone only bunny girl Kallen and bikini Viletta (both polystone versions from Bandai Hobby’s B-club).
